Bishop Octavio Cisneros invites you to help strengthen families, fund Catholic education, and foster priestly and religious vocations by giving to the Collection for the Church in Latin America. For over 50 years, Catholics in the United States have expressed solidarity with the Church from Mexico to the Caribbean, to the southern tip of South America through the Collection. En Español

Pope Francis expressed gratitude for the work of the Collection for the Church in Latin America (CLA) in a letter read at the 2015 Fall General Assembly of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in Baltimore, Maryland. Download the letter.

Collection for the Church in Latin America Inspires All to "Share Your Faith"

The annual national Collection for the Church in Latin America (CLA) will be the weekend of January 22-23. The 2022 campaign highlights the faith of Latin America and the many opportunities we have to share faith with them. We also recognize the tremendous benefit of having our Latin American brothers and sisters in the Church and the revitalization their fervor brings to the faith. In addition to offering our help and support to the Catholics of Latin America, we have much to learn from them.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops invite you to aid our faithful brothers and sisters in the Catholic Church of Latin America. To learn more about who the collection benefits, review the information below or visit How to Give to participate this January.

Projects Supported by CLA

For the latest information on the projects supported by this collection, please view this report of  2021 June Projects . For more information on giving to the Collection for the Church in Latin America, please visit our How to Give section. The Subcommittee makes annual grants to the Church in Latin America and the Caribbean from the annual collection. While the Subcommittee cannot earmark individual contributions for specific countries or programs, including for the earthquakes in Mexico, its emergency grants are made from the same funding source, the collection, so any donations made in response to this disaster will increase the overall funds available.

In this video (in Spanish), subcommittee chairman Bishop Cisneros speaks about his recent visit to Chile and attending a meeting on the pastoral programs that support communities in need.
